March may typically roar in like a lion and go out like a lamb… or vice versa. But the next season of life around our house looks to fall into that same category as the whole family is together under the same roof – at least for a few brief weeks of summer.
The brilliant daughter and I roared back into town later than expected a couple days ago with a van packed full of the remnants of her freshman year at college. The husband and brilliant son got everything unloaded and in the coming days she’ll sort out what will go back and what wasn’t needed.
The greyhounds and cats were thrilled to see her, and I believe just as happy as I am to have everyone home for awhile.
Memorial Day is important here, not just because it signals the coming days of summer fun, but as an Army family we are keenly aware of the service and sacrifice made my our men and women in uniform and the families who support them.
We enjoyed having a holiday Monday relaxing and catching up before the brilliant son finishes his last days of his sophomore year of high school. Each member of our family is committed to different activities this summer and I expect some days will be noisy and others delightfully quiet.
Amid the laundry and laughter traipsing through the house in the coming weeks, my goals are to finish the next two books in the Matchmaker series, introduce readers to new romantic suspense and start fleshing out a paranormal series idea that my imagination just won’t let go of.
I’m excited to share each of these projects with fans and new readers alike, so join the newsletter or check back frequently here at the blog for offers to be first readers and reviewers of these new titles.
This next ‘season’ of our lifeĀ is a good thing. It feels like forever since we’ve all been home, and yet I can look at the calendar and know it’s only been a few months. Time is strange and wonderful that way.
Live the adventure!
