Adopted Greyhound Discovers Peanut Butter

We’ve always loved the adventure of watching greyhounds make the transition from track life to retired life. Adopted greyhounds are curious, loving, smart and just plain fun as they discover all the variety beyond the routine of training and racing kennels.

Bandit the puppy, taught Boo how to enjoy an ice cube and she has returned the favor…teaching Bandit the joys of peanut butter.

Peanut butter has always been Boo’s favorite treat. She perks up when the pantry door opens and I swear she’s learned the sound of the jar sliding off the shelf. She may be a sighthound, but her nose is in perfect working order. You can’t open a jar of peanut butter in our house without Boo joining you within seconds.

Brody likes peanut butter well enough, but he’s not as ‘interested’ unless he knows there will be some coming his way. Boo, however, is in the mix ASAP and Bandit follows right behind. I believe they dream of the day we forget to put the lid back on the jar.

Live the greyhound adventure!

  1. This takes me back 30 years to my dog, Sam. He loved peanut butter, but hated when it got stuck to the roof of his mouth. Unfortunately for him, we’d just laugh as he smacked and smacked trying to get it off, but that didn’t stop him from wanting another bite.
