Happy Holidays! Well, I did it! I completed the Reading Romances 2012 Reading challenge and enjoyed TONS of great books along the way. Due to the holidays, today is the last day to post our results for December (or any previous month)
As a reminder I tackled challenge 2 (Christmas theme) and read Twas the Night After Christmas by Sabrina Jeffries! She says it’s a bridge between the recent Hellions of Hallstead Hall series and her new 2013 series.
Let me just say I’m looking forward to the 2013 series. (yes I’m a die-hard Jeffries fan and I savor Regency romances like good, dark chocolate).
Twas the Night After Christmas was delicious – with all the emotion and sensuality I adore in a Jeffries novel. It’s always great to be hooked on page one, but sometimes an author just tugs the heartstrings early and doesn’t let go.
I felt for Pierce from the first heart-breaking moment and I wanted to know the WHOLE story. So while Camilla might have been a bit sneaky in the way she lured Pierce to visit his mother, it was for all the right reasons. There had to be some way to reconcile the woman Camilla knew with the woman Pierce assumed his mother to be. Leave it to Jeffries to tie it up with a perfect, happily ever after bow!
This is a great read – at the holidays or any time of year.
