Greyhound Fostering Fun

Through the years, we’ve watched many dogs learn the following lessons over the past ten years:

Mirrors are fun, no matter how high you must leap to see yourself. Sadie was the recent queen of self-adoration.  It was a good look for her.

Countersurfing is fun, but should be done only with a safety mat at the ready. Just because you can leap to new heights, doesn’t automatically mean you can land with the grace of a cat.

Jumping on new people is fun, especially if you can get a kiss in there before they duck, but foster parents call it ‘bad manners’.

Wood floors can be slippery and therefore scary. Proceed with extreme caution.

Tile floors can be cold and slippery and scary. It’s best to have a buddy near by.

Nerves aren’t just for people.

Thunderstorms are why people invented desks to hide under.

Lovies are fun and very good.

Coming inside after being out in the rain means a rub down with a towel. This is very good.

Walking with people is fun. Walks can be leisurely. Walks can be short or long, but it’s always best to be in front.

Retirement is fun, it’s the bestest kind of lifestyle, even though you still have to see the vet.

Riding in the car is fun, but it’s best to stay out of the driver’s lap. If the car ride is to the vet, look as pitiful as possible.

Cats are fun, but they’re family and family isn’t for chasing. Hmmm, you can still chase them when you’re sleeping.

Couches are fun. They might be the best, most- wonderful invention.

Food is different, fun, and yummy off the track. If you act like you’re not sure you want to eat, you’ll probably get a bonus on top.

Bonus treats are fun- really, really fun.

Stairs are easier going up. Going down, it’s best to have a buddy. Or you can cry for a people to help you.

Live the adventure!
