Behind the Scenes – writing the Knight Travelers trilogy

The legends of King Arthur, Camelot, and Avalon were my first loves as a fantasy reader. Those worlds held magic and power. Danger and hope. Great battles of dark versus light. Severe tests of human willpower against temptation.

And of course great romance and true love.

As a reader, it always felt as if the possibilities were limitless in Camelot. As an author who is always asking, “What if…?” Camelot is fertile ground for even my wildest of story ideas.

What if… King Arthur needed knights who could defeat both death and time to conquer a pervasive evil? That’s the spark that started during a conversation with my best friend and the spark became the blaze that fueled the Knight Travelers trilogy.

Crafting the stories – both the novels and the shorter tales that make up each of the three parts of the trilogy – brought me such joy as a writer. Every day I was lucky enough to dive into fantasy worlds, exploring the wonders of magic both dark and light, to follow where the characters led me.

That joy is magified time and again when reviewers and readers come along for the ride and fall in love with these sexy heroes and the courageous women who are an integral part of fulfilling their quests.

Each part of the Knight Travelers trilogy is packed with action, time-travel, romance, adventure, and fantasy. And every character carries a piece of the fantasy-loving reader I was as a kid.

I’ve enjoyed wonderful experiences throughout my career and the Knight Travelers are definitely books of my heart, near and dear to me in the writing and as I share them with my readers.
