When a reader asks if I write books with the extra dose of enemies to lovers tension, my first reaction is to say “no”. It’s never been a trope I deliberately sought out as a reader, so I tend to focus on other aspects of these stories.
But this list is proof that I have, indeed, written enemies to lovers books. Not only written them, but enjoyed the process more because of this extra layer of emotional tension. (Who knows… maybe there are more of these stories in my future. Time will tell.)
And although many authors will tell you that choosing a favorite book is like naming a favorite child, of the books I’ve written with this theme, my favorite is Colton PI Protector! (Maybe it’s the corgi…)
He’s claiming redemption—and the woman he wants
A sudden attack and a dognapping leave K-9 trainer Danica Gage shaken to her core. Even more surprising is her rescuer: P.I. Shane Colton. Years ago her family stole Shane’s freedom, but now Danica needs him to catch a criminal. And she must fight the urge to run into his arms…because wanting him could be a deadly mistake.
Coming in a close second is Laura’s Truth!
Can an undercover bride breathe life into a man presumed dead?
All reports label CIA officer Andrew Garner as an enemy of the state, responsible for the ambush that ended his life and the lives of three innocent soldiers. The reports are dead wrong.
Andrew survived. Barely. Living under the radar, without any support, he’s finally tracked down the real killer and he’s ready to clear his name.
Another one with that enemies to lovers twist is Colton’s Dangerous Liaison
The clock is running out to keep her safe…
By-the-book police chief Melissa Colton prides herself on putting justice before all else. That means work first—and no passionate affairs. But she finds herself severely tempted when teaming up with hotelier Antonio Ruiz to figure out who’s tracking her. As the case yields more questions than answers, Melissa and Antonio must resist their growing attraction…and capture the criminal targeting them!
And rounding out this short list is Detective On Call!
Two bitter rivals unite to track a deadly killer
Detective Emmanuel Iglesias does his duty at all costs, even if that means going up against Pippa Colton. The stubborn attorney insists her client is innocent, but Emmanuel knows that his case is rock-solid. That is, until Pippa becomes a target herself. Is the real killer still at large? As their mutual distrust turns into an undeniable attraction, the murderer becomes bolder—and more menacing…
Happy reading!
