We’re a week+ into 2019… how is your writing going? There’s so much talk of goals and resolutions and fresh starts in January, but sometimes our enthusiasm fades quickly when reality sets in.
Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.
Personally I’ve set some aggressive production goals for the year. I’m excited and a bit intimidated, but determined, simply because I have the discipline and support to see it through.
If –fine, when– I start to panic, my husband or one of my author friends will remind me I can do it – one page at a time. For me, my confidence boils down to the daily production and that started with the 100×100 writing challenge.
Sometimes the simple answer really is the most effective advice.
The 100×100 writing challenge is about building up your discipline muscles. It’s about the practice of making time for your writing goals and dreams. The daily small steps of writing a minimum of 100 words per day for 100 days straight (if you miss a day, you have to start over) creates a healthy habit, builds your confidence and the progress and momentum fuel your enthusiasm, infusing your writing life with creativity and positive energy.
Live the writing adventure!
