Writer Wednesday #57

Are you struggling to keep your writing ‘appointments’?

If you’re resisting the time you’ve carved out for writing, it might be time to ask yourself a few questions: Why do you want to write? Who are you writing for? What do you want your reader to feel?

Writing motivation, or lack thereof, can be tracked back to your enthusiasm for your project too. In that case you may need to decide if this is a project you actually want or need to be working on.

I’m all for finishing a project once you start – you learn more that way – but it’s important to be aware of what your feeling and why as you’re working.

Once you know those answers (and there are no wrong answers) you can adjust your expectations to empower yourself, revive your motivation and get back on track to create the results you want.

The writing journey is individual – do what is best for you rather than get hung up by what others expect from you.
